Engineer and project manager

My job is to manage the team in charge of responding to calls for tender in order to draw up and offer the best solutions to our customers.

What I like most is being part of this provider environment and having the chance to work on a variety of projects, with very different customers, in different businesses: from metallurgy, to oil and gas, to space.

In particular, I had the chance to represent Groupe ADF on the Kourou site for the Ariane 6 project for a year.

I also like the fact that I am a sort of machine ‘doctor’ and contribute to a more sustainable world. Because our job at ADF is also to extend the life of the production tools, to optimise as much as possible… And that makes sense to me!

ADF is a company that knows when to question itself. It is a human company that has the will and the drive to become better. It is flexible and dynamic and leaves great independence to its employees.
At ADF, everyone is listened to!

Jean Luc Garbal's story

Welder in manufacturing department

I joined Groupe ADF 3 years ago after a professional retraining.
I had been a waitress in the restaurant business for 12 years, when I met a welder who told me about the qualities of this job.
That was when I was inspired: if she could do it, why wouldn’t I?
I started a training course at the CFAI which led to my meeting with the HR teams of Groupe ADF at a recruitment fair.

My job consists of welding stainless steel parts for customers in various sectors. For example, I was able to help weld parts for a nuclear power station in England and for the Ariane 6 rocket!
And soon, it will also be in the pharmaceutical, chemical, construction or energy sectors, with customers visiting our workshops several times a month.

What I like most about my job is that it gives me serenity and self-confidence.
By nature, I’m nervous. However, each gesture requires a great deal of attention: I channel myself and forget everything!
My job gives me a lot of satisfaction thanks to the team’s positive attitude: we are transparent, we tell each other everything, we don’t stab each other in the back, we adapt.
We are challenged: and that’s me!

In life, we sometimes have our heads in the sand, we don’t necessarily realise how much we can contribute. Here, the teams have given me my chance thanks to the sharing of their know-how but also, and this is essential, thanks to their human generosity.
Family spirit is priceless.
I would like to say: dare to do this job, pride guaranteed!

Helene Arnal's story

Contract manager

I joined Groupe ADF in 2014 as a junior aeronautical methods engineer, then I than had the chance to lead the Methods Department 4 years after my arrival.
For the past year, I have been a contract manager for our client Airbus .

My job is to manage the contract on a daily basis. I have very versatile tasks: management, safety, expertise and know-how, business development and team management.
I love this balance between the technical, economic and human aspects.

What I like most is representing ADF on our customer’s site, making decisions, having visibility on all our actions, a bit like a company director. It’s very gratifying.
It’s the fruit of a transparent and constructive exchange with the teams of technicians and managers, where each one learns from the other, with listening, humility and experience sharing. It makes you grow!

At Groupe ADF, I am grateful for the managerial proximity and the solidarity that drives us. My team and I take a ‘solutions’ approach, to meet the customer’s needs, we never give up and we feel supported.

I have never before met a company that offers so many levers for action once you’ ve earned their trust. I was accompanied, trained, I never felt uncomfortable in my career: you are well prepared to evolve.

The job opportunities, due to the diversity of our industrial offers, are both extensive and diverse… So the adventure has only just begun!

Florent Chezal's story

QHSE manager, nuclear divison

I joined Groupe ADF in 2018, and this is now my second position! Firstly I joined the Industrial Projects and Equipment Division, where I worked in project mode for customers such as ORANO, ITER and NAVAL GROUP, then I joined the Nuclear Division.

My job is to manage a team of QHSE coordinators in the field. Our guiding thread is to maintain the site at the required level in close collaboration with our customers.

What do I like most? It’s hard to choose because my tasks are so diverse and rewarding.

If I start with the human aspect, what I like is to accompany. My role is not to question the expertise of each person or to sanction the operational approach of the teams! I position myself as an advisor, to reflect together on habits, which are too often the source of deviation from the risk anticipation reflex, which is essential to our profession.
I am driven by the conviction that it is from this collaboration that operational excellence stems!

On a technical level, I am nourished every day by exchanges and the sharing of expertise. I have learned so much in the last three years!

My credo is that, just like when I play sports, I don’t give up, I progress step by step. I like this quote from L. de Vinci: ‘Every obstacle strengthens determination. He who has set a goal does not change it’.

Groupe ADF is a company of enthusiasts who love their job and passing on the fruit of their experience.
Elsewhere, we recruit on existing skills, here we have the opportunity to develop potential skills

Amélie Clabaut's story

Soon to be Welding Engineer

I joined Groupe ADF as part of my professional welding/sheet metal equipment degree in 2018.
The company then offered to finance my IWE (International Welding Engineer) training with a 3-year work-study contract until I graduate in September 2022!

My tasks?
I work alongside the sheet metal business manager at all stages of the project. I’m in charge of welding issues, based on customer specifications, which I translate and turn into an action plan for workshop operations.
Once the action plan has been implemented with a team of about ten people, I move on to the site phase, ensuring that the quality requirements are met. And when theory meets practice, you learn to reassess, adapt and work together !

What I like most is working on the “perfect” design of a part, in other words, finding THE solution for the customer.
Besides, I have the chance to experience the progress of the project up close. It’s rewarding to see the results of my actions, both technically and in terms of business: I like to sense the customer’s satisfaction.

At ADF, I appreciate that the employees are trusted.
It’s up to each individual to seize the rapid development opportunities offered by this company with its many different business lines and development strategies.

My goal? To become a Welding Manager for the Groupe in France or abroad!
